‘Trychfil, Servant of Death, and a Hapless Grub,’ pen and ink, brush pen and Sakura Microns on Bristol Board, 6″ x 9″
Trychfil is the servant of Death and takes the form of a large mantis like insect. In this image, Trychfil has come to take a poor grub to the underworld.
Creepy and super cool! I love it!
love
Everyone imagines God and Death in their own image, why should insects be different? Great picture, you seem to have captured the spirit of Van Gogh anf the Punisher comics, which must be a first for anyone?
Excellent, excellent line and brush work! I love the perspective you’ve chosen, not to mention the unusual creatures and the Van Gogh-esque swirling light patterns. This is really fabulous:>
It seems like the more I learn about digital drawing (PhotoShop, Illustrator, etc.) makes me miss drawing the “old fashioned way”. Finding Illustration Friday makes me wasnt to go back to my roots. Thanks for the demo. I use the “brush pen” as yoiu described on my woork too.
Sorry, I sent my comment earlier too soon. Thanks for the inspiration. I like the way you combine different line types and the radial thing going on the patterns.
wow… that must’ve taken a while. Nice illo!
Your imagination and skill are inspiring. Love this insect, the lamp, spiral light, the detail etc. Not time to catch up properly but also seen Super Furry Animals post which works I think, I’ve wondered about illustrating song lyrics. Great stuff. ..:::o
your creations seem to me magic, the drawings have something very special.
your illustration is great. love the concept.
